Dust The European alternative to OpenAI Assistants / Glean

Dust is a Paris-based platform that lets companies build their own AI agents without writing code. The agents are connected to internal knowledge sources such as Slack, Google Drive, Notion, Confluence, GitHub, Jira, Intercom and Microsoft 365. Typical use cases include answering questions about internal documentation, summarising support tickets, assisting with code reviews and automating sales research. Depending on the configuration, Dust uses different underlying models, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Mistral.

Dust offers regional hosting in both the EU and the US, so customers can choose a region that fits their regulatory needs. According to the vendor, the platform runs on Google Cloud, using EU regions for European customers. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 and TLS is used in transit. It should be noted that Google Cloud is a US-headquartered hyperscaler, and depending on the third-party models selected (for example OpenAI or Anthropic), additional data flows to US-based providers may occur.

Dust connects to tools such as Slack, Google Drive, Notion, Confluence, GitHub, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and Microsoft 365 through native connectors. Indexed content is made available to agents as searchable context, without the underlying model providers using it for training. Administrators can configure on a per-agent basis which sources, which models and which tools are available. Custom tools and APIs can be added as well, allowing agents to read from and write back into internal systems.
