Frequently asked questions about Smyq
What is Smyq and what is it used for? +
Smyq is web-based software for tasks, projects and tickets from Nagel & Köpfe GmbH in Duisburg, Germany. The three building blocks areas, projects and tickets are treated as equals, and tasks can belong to several areas without being duplicated. List, Kanban, calendar and timeline/Gantt views are available, along with dependencies, recurring tasks, templates, custom fields, bulk actions and if-then automations. Existing data can be imported from Asana via CSV. Smyq runs in the browser and can be installed as a web app; there are no native apps.
Does Smyq run on European infrastructure? +
According to the sub-processor list, the main server is hosted by Hostinger in a data centre in Frankfurt. Encrypted backups are stored at Scaleway in Paris and as immutable copies at Hetzner in Germany, and the CDN is provided by Bunny.net from Slovenia with an active EU routing filter. Emails are sent via ALL-INKL.COM, invoices are created by easybill, and DNS is run by deSEC in Berlin. Smyq states that it uses no US cloud. The privacy policy describes one exception: after a confirmed sign-up, a Google Ads click ID is transmitted server-side to Google, while the website embeds no Google script or cookie.
How do you pay for Smyq? +
Smyq offers SEPA direct debit and payment by invoice, and deliberately does not accept credit cards. The direct debit runs under its own creditor identifier via the provider's German bank, with no payment service provider in between. Every debit is announced 14 days in advance with amount, date and service period. Bank details are stored encrypted in the database in Germany and deleted 14 months after the mandate ends. The paid plans can be tested for 30 days without a payment method, after which the account automatically switches to the free Solo plan.
