Mail Infomaniak The European alternative to Gmail

Mail Infomaniak is the email service of Infomaniak Network SA from Geneva (Switzerland, founded 1994). Free ik.me addresses are available, as well as professional email addresses with custom domains. The service supports IMAP, POP3, SMTP and offers a modern webmailer with drag-and-drop management. Apps for Android and iOS (Infomaniak Mail) enable mobile access. CalDAV and CardDAV for calendar and contact synchronization are integrated.

According to the Infomaniak FAQ, all emails are stored exclusively in Infomaniak-owned data centers in Switzerland. Infomaniak designs, develops, and fully manages its infrastructure in-house, without AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. The data centers are ISO 27001 certified (TIER III+) and run on renewable energy. The newest data center (D4 in Geneva) feeds 100 percent of its waste heat into the Geneva district heating network. The company is subject to Swiss law and not the US CLOUD Act.

Mail Infomaniak stores no data in the US and does not use it for advertising or AI training. The entire service runs in Switzerland with renewable energy, without CLOUD Act risk. Functionally, the service supports all common standards (IMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV) and integrates seamlessly with Apple Mail, Outlook, or Thunderbird. Unlike Gmail, there is no advertising in the inbox and no profiling of email contents.
