kDrive The European alternative to Google Drive

kDrive is the cloud storage service of Swiss provider Infomaniak Network SA from Geneva, founded in 1994. The service combines file storage with an integrated office suite (kSuite) for real-time collaboration on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations directly in the browser. Automatic backups, versioning, and synchronization across all devices (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) are standard. kDrive is part of a broader Infomaniak ecosystem with mail, hosting, and streaming.

According to the official FAQ, all data is stored exclusively in Infomaniak-owned data centers in Switzerland. Infomaniak designs, develops, and fully manages its infrastructure in-house, using neither AWS, Google Cloud, nor Microsoft Azure. The data centers are ISO 27001 certified and run on renewable energy; the newest data center (D4 in Geneva) has fed 100 percent of its waste heat into the Geneva district heating network since November 2024. Infomaniak is a Swiss family business with no external investors.

kDrive integrates kSuite, which allows documents, spreadsheets, and presentations to be edited directly in the browser. Multiple people can work on the same document simultaneously without data being transferred to Microsoft or Google. Version history, comments, real-time chat, and @mentions are integrated. The suite supports common formats (DOCX, XLSX, PPTX) and enables importing existing files without format loss.
