ScreenWeaver The European alternative to Final Draft

ScreenWeaver is web-based software for screenwriters, filmmakers and studios, developed by Outerframe Studio SAS in Strasbourg. Its core is a screenplay editor with industry-standard formatting and no limit on projects or pages. It also includes a visual outline and beat editor for planning the structure of a story. Storyboards with shot breakdowns can be generated from the screenplay and adjusted manually. Screenplays are exported as PDF or in Final Draft format.

According to the legal notice and privacy policy, ScreenWeaver is hosted by Vercel Inc., a provider based in the United States. The privacy policy states that data may be processed within the EU and also outside it, including in the United States, safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses. Stripe is named for payments, while other service providers are only listed as categories. The website names ElevenLabs and BytePlus as supporters and Seedance as the video model. The infrastructure is therefore not fully European.

The free Screenwriter plan includes the screenplay editor, the outline and beat editor and exports as PDF and in Final Draft format. It is a free plan, not a trial period. The storyboard features are available as a paid open beta. According to the website, video production features are not yet available and are announced for a later plan.
