VEJA is a French sneaker brand based in Paris, founded in 2005. The sneakers are produced in Brazil and Portugal with a focus on sustainable materials such as organic cotton, wild Amazonian rubber, recycled plastic, and vegan-certified leather. Classic models include V-10, Esplar, and Campo. The brand is B-Corp certified.

Is VEJA manufactured in Europe? +

Part of VEJA's production has been taking place in Portugal since January 2023, at the supplier Samba. This "Aegean Project" aims to manufacture sneakers specifically for the EU market locally. The larger share of production (around 75 percent) continues to take place in Brazil, in Fair Trade USA-certified factories. Leather is sourced from LWG Gold-certified tanneries in Portugal and Italy.

How sustainable are VEJA sneakers? +

The soles contain between 40 and 100 percent natural Amazonian rubber, harvested by smallholders in Acre (Brazil). According to the company, the cotton comes 100 percent from organic farming and fair trade cooperatives. Used VEJA shoes can be returned through the Veja Project recycling program. The brand publishes annual transparency reports on the supply chain.
