Frequently asked questions about ReceiveHQ
What is ReceiveHQ and what is it used for? +
ReceiveHQ processes inbound email for applications. The service accepts messages via SMTP on a custom domain, parses the MIME content with attachments and headers and sends the data as a structured request to a webhook. Alternatively, AI agents, for example in Cursor or Claude, can access the messages via the Model Context Protocol. The webhook formats are compatible with Postmark, Mailgun, SendGrid, CloudMailin and other services, so existing code can continue to be used. The operator is Cortena B.V. from Amsterdam.
Does ReceiveHQ run on European infrastructure? +
According to the hosting declaration, ReceiveHQ runs on dedicated servers from Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany in a private Kubernetes cluster. Messages, parsing results, delivery logs and account data are stored in the EU, and object storage is provided by a self-operated MinIO instance. AWS, Google Cloud or Azure are not mentioned. Abusix is listed as a second sub-processor and only receives connection metadata without mail content when DNS blocklists are enabled. A data processing agreement is publicly available.
How much does ReceiveHQ cost? +
ReceiveHQ costs EUR 10 per month or EUR 100 per year and includes up to 100,000 inbound emails. Each additional block of 100,000 emails costs EUR 10. For testing, the first 10 emails per tenant are free, with up to three trial tenants. After that, a subscription is required, and no permanent free plan is offered.
