Leviia The European alternative to AWS S3 / Google Drive

Leviia is a French cloud provider based in Saint-Soupplets (Île-de-France). The offering includes S3-compatible object storage for backups and applications as well as a collaborative cloud drive with office functions, calendar, and contacts based on Nextcloud. Leviia is used among others for backups (S3 Backup), data archiving, and as a central cloud solution for small and medium-sized businesses. Apps and web clients are available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Leviia operates its storage in three geo-replicated data centers in France. The data centers are ISO 27001 certified and approved for health data according to HDS (Hébergeur de Données de Santé). No US cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure are used. The entire stack is based on open-source components. Leviia is subject to French and European law and not subject to the US CLOUD Act.

Leviia offers S3-compatible interfaces but charges no egress fees, no API requests, and no deletion costs. AWS S3 is significantly larger and globally distributed but falls under US law and the CLOUD Act. Leviia is designed for French and European data sovereignty and targets companies that want to store their data without dependence on US hyperscalers.
