MAGIX The European alternative to Pro Tools / Logic Pro

MAGIX is a German multimedia software company based in Berlin and operated by MAGIX Software GmbH. In the audio segment, MAGIX sells several digital audio workstations and sound tools for different user groups. These include Samplitude and Sequoia for professional production and mastering, Sound Forge Pro for editing and restoration, ACID Pro for loop-based production, and Music Maker as entry-level software. The products are used in studios, broadcasting, post-production, and in the consumer segment. MAGIX is registered in the Berlin-Charlottenburg commercial register.

MAGIX's audio products are downloadable software and run locally on Windows systems without requiring a permanent cloud connection. MAGIX Software GmbH is headquartered in Berlin. Account and licence management as well as updates are handled through the company's own infrastructure. Add-ons such as additional instruments, sample packs, and soundpools are also delivered via the official MAGIX servers. As a result, the vendor side is located entirely in Germany.

MAGIX offers several DAWs in the audio space, each aimed at a different user group. Samplitude Pro X is a professional DAW with object-oriented audio editing, high-quality effects, and a mastering section. Sequoia is aimed at broadcasting and mastering studios and extends Samplitude with specialised workflows. Sound Forge Pro is primarily focused on editing, restoration, and mastering of individual audio files. ACID Pro is a loop-based DAW for electronic music and beat production. Music Maker is entry-level software with a large library of soundpools and a simplified interface.
