Website AI Agent

Website AI Agent is an AI chatbot from Provimedia GmbH that is embedded in a website via a code snippet. It automatically reads the website, optionally together with uploaded PDFs, and answers visitor questions on that basis. Staff can take over a conversation via live chat, and a contact form and ticket system are also included. Product recognition and purchase advice are provided for online shops. Reports show conversations, conversions and knowledge gaps.

According to the privacy policy, the application, database and email sending run at netcup in Nuremberg, and the crawler at Hetzner in Falkenstein. AI processing is only partly European: the default LLM is Google Gemini from the US group Google, for which the provider does not commit to a processing location in the EU. Even for bots using Mistral AI, embeddings and the visitor's question for the knowledge search are processed via Google Gemini. The knowledge base is also processed via Ollama Cloud, mainly in the US, with no separate safeguard under Chapter V GDPR documented according to the provider. According to the privacy policy, chat messages do not go to Ollama. Google Ads for conversion measurement and self-operated Matomo run on the website only with consent.

The provider names two selectable vendors: Google Gemini as the default and Mistral AI from France. The choice is made per bot and, according to the provider, can be changed later without data loss. According to the privacy policy, Mistral processes data in the EU by default, although temporary transfers to sub-processors outside the EU are possible. Choosing Mistral affects chat replies and other text tasks, but not embeddings, which always run via Google Gemini. For Mistral bots, speech output via Google is only active with the customer's consent.
