Pilae

Pilae is a managed service from Pilae SA, based in Lausanne and founded in 2026. The service installs and runs open-source applications and AI agents on the customer's own hardware, in the Pilae Cloud, in a hybrid setup or fully disconnected from the internet. The catalogue includes Nextcloud, Mattermost, Keycloak, Vaultwarden, Odoo, GitLab and n8n, as well as Open WebUI, Ollama and vLLM for private AI. Pilae handles monitoring, backups and on-call duty, and also offers onboarding, migration and SSO integration. The target group are organisations in the public sector, finance, health, legal and research.

With the on-premises option, applications and data run on the customer's hardware. According to the provider, the Pilae Cloud uses dedicated machines in Switzerland and the EU in ISO 27001 certified data centres; the website does not name the data centre operators. Customers choose the country where their data is stored, and backups are stored encrypted at an offsite location every day. Customers receive the list of sub-processors with the security pack, it is not published. For its own website, Pilae lists Cloudflare (USA) as the only processor, and the website uses no analytics or advertising trackers.

Pilae Agent is an AI operator that plans changes to the environment, waits for the customer's approval, then applies them and logs them. All operations run through a single console for apps, machines, deployments, backups, logs and audit events. Via MCP and an API, customers can also connect their own agents or tools such as Claude and Cursor. Sandboxes are available for testing. The applications themselves are only reachable on private addresses within a mesh network.
