Ampler The European alternative to Trek / Specialized e-bikes

Ampler Bikes is an e-bike manufacturer from Tallinn (Estonia), founded in 2016 by a motocross racer, an engineer, and a bicycle designer. The range includes the models Curt, Stout, Stellar, and Nova as lightweight city and commuter e-bikes. With full street-legal equipment, the bikes weigh 16.3 to 16.5 kilograms. In 2024, Ampler was the world's first e-bike with USB-C charging.

All Ampler e-bikes are handcrafted in Estonia. Production follows the made-to-order principle: each bike is only built after order. The rear hub motor with torque sensor is an in-house development. Showrooms are in Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Zurich, and Tallinn. The company received a funding round of €7.4 million in 2021 for expansion.

Ampler focuses on lightweight city and commuter e-bikes with minimalist design, Specialized also produces mountain bikes and performance e-bikes with higher power. Ampler bikes are made-to-order in Estonia, Specialized produces in Asia (US parent). Ampler uses an in-house rear hub motor, Specialized works with Brose and other manufacturers. Ampler is European, Specialized is US-American.
